History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Manfred was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered illithids who tried to eat his hand. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Manfred was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright.
