History: Frederick hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying north to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He is fixated on the number 65. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. When triggered he is a bloodthirsty maniac, stopping at nothing and killing everything for almost an hour.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the west. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Miles grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Miles. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: Born in the west to a Merchant, Charles learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. His childhood dream was to be a Marshal, but he was a colossal failure. He became a Merchant soon after.

Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Cursed with vampirism at a very young age, Don has worked very hard to control his curse. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and wants to have a good time and be beloved
