History: Bertram was born with his mother's beautiful face. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Bertram alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature mace.

History: He comes from a rich western family. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east.
