History: Gerard was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Fighter, to bring honor to his family’s name. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Courier. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

His smile is extraordinarily sincere though he does not smile often.

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Bertram will drive conversation. The war was a terrible time for him, and Bertram does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.
