History: Bernard was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: He was born in the east. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Hubert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. A few years later when the east was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Thomas was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Thomas was orphaned to a temple shortly after his birth. He was raised by the temple staff to care always for others above himself and to hold his god always in his heart. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Beggar.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Conrad hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Conrad alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and many illithids want him driven away
