History: Bernard lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the south were limited. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born into a rich family. He married young, but lost his spouse to brigands. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and someone believes him a fraud

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gifted student he started as a Painter, but he got bored and became a Spice Merchant. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Human in existence. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Now he works as a dancing tutor during his time off.
