He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

History: William hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. At a young age his mother died while driving off some dire rats. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in rapier use. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away.
