The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family At some point he was captured by giants and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.
