He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Personality: He will rave to anyone who will listen. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: Regain custody of his daughter; and doesn't want to be a merchant and was forced into it by his family

History: Simon was raised in a hard working conservative environment. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Painter responsibilities is difficult; and retire the richest man in the west

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Bowyer.
