Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. Personality: He misses his glory days as an athlete. He does not mind his job, but it is boring in comparison. He is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gifted student he started as a Merchant, but he got bored and became a Miller. He has been helping groups of widows and orphans who have fled abusive spouses or lost their families to dire rats.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and balancing his hectic life and new miller responsibilities is difficult

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He would rather hide behind his crafts than deal with other people.

History: Bernard was born the youngest of three triplets. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To unite with his sister.
