History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Bertram alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. He loves teas. He is very sensitive about his face. To blow off anger he lifts weights and to control his otherwise explosive temper he works out a lot.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Adam fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has achieved small success as a Locksmith.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
