Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. Bertram is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Bertram was born with his mother's beautiful face. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Fortune-teller they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Barber, and he later adopted a second son.

Personality: He is a Cartwright first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To be a Courier again; and wants to open a new tavern

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. He has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: His psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He was granted psionic powers by his dying sister.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Bernard isn't afraid of most anything. He has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Human unity. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.
