To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Kody. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Personality: He trusts no one. He is not readily capable for forgiveness and his ire never leaves him. He passes on several rewards to people in need. He makes a point to leave places better than he found them.

History: Gifted from a young age, Balimaar studied abroad. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. After a long history of fighting, Balimaar and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Ralf was born on a far western plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Map Maker. He now owns his own business.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. Godfrey was born on a far southern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Scribe. He has achieved small success as a Scribe.

Description: A pudgy man standing about 5'1" has a big stupid grin on his face most of the time. He does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it. His chestnut hair has been sun bleached extensively. His eyes are brown and catlike.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Gerard embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He works hard and plays hard.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Gerard abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
