This search led him directly into Scribe work with an outfit from a few towns over. Scribe work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He became a Scribe soon after.

Motivation: A deep hatred of drow; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Bertram embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Bertram was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
