Through the years after Kody was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Kody's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and doesn't want to be a bookbinder and was forced into it by his family
