History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Ernest was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Interpreter. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Hugh never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Guard who has hired him part-time. He feeds upon the attention of others.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: The child of a Herbalist, who enjoyed hunting, Odo was taken on many hunting expeditions. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son.
