History: William hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving William alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: He was born in a small forest village. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Tanner work with an outfit from a few towns over. Tanner work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. After a long history of fighting, Charles and his spouse have recently divorced.

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Gerard was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He now owns his own business.

He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
