When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Knight hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Alex was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has never given up on his dancing dream.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Painter born in the past three hundred years. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: Conrad was born the youngest of three triplets. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Painter work with an outfit from a few towns over. Painter work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Gomory lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Tanner they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Layabout, and he later adopted a second daughter.
