He is bald on top and has large golden tufts of hair around his ears. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines hazel.

Personality: Randal hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his dancing career. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has never given up on his dancing dream.

History: He got into the Carter business at a young age. A gifted student he started as a Marshal, but he got bored and became a Carter. He has achieved small success as a Carter.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and balancing his hectic life and new carter responsibilities is difficult

History: Shane lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: He has a crush on the local Engraver; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion
