Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Ernest was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Bricklayer work with an outfit from a few towns over. Bricklayer work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Godfrey was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.
