Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of brigands may trigger it at times.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Bertram alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

He has had some formal dancing training, and achieved minor success. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.
