History: Ernest was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His mother was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At some point he was captured by brigands and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Norman lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and his religion dominates his actions
