Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: His druidic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. After coming to the age of reason, Roland took it upon himself to study the druidic arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He came across an abandoned tomb where he found a relic that called out to him. After picking it up he was cursed by unlife.
