Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. The war was a terrible time for him, and Alex does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Alex was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Gerald was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: To be a Navigator again; and retire the richest man in the south

Personality: He is envious of other's things. He hoards treasure, art, food, wine, and anything that he so desires. A fanatic, his devotion to his small selection of gods is unquestionable. He claims to be doing their will and will base all his actions on whether or not they would be pleasing to the gods.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Sailor they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Glassblower, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and many dire rats want him driven away
