History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Thervan's homeland. Thervan decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and he has money and likes to spend it
