History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Paelias alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. In his journeys he found a malevolent artifact. He wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends.
