History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the south. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He has never given up on his writing dream.

Personality: He is intelligent and cunning, but he will too often allow his rage to get the better of him. He will lose his cool and rely on brute force to carry the day. The war was a terrible time for him, and Varis does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Varis was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he feels kind of lost in life

Personality: He loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: Qualen was born with his father's beautiful face. He worked as a nervous Servant and found it very stressful. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Guard responsibilities is difficult; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
