History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Gardain was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes illithids are coming to abduct people. The war was a terrible time for him, and Garl does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Garl was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: He feels kind of lost in life; and a deep hatred of illithids

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.
