History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Through the years after Hobart was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and to be a dilettante again

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Thorpe was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
