His mother, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was granted divine powers by his dying brother.

Personality: He will rave to anyone who will listen. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Cartwright but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Paelias's homeland. Paelias decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
