History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Jak alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country.
