Personality: He runs his personal life as if detached from it. He organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits he will get from it. Heian is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Heian lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent father; and to get a good night's sleep

History: He was born into a rich family. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Rolf embodies much of what other species detest in the Half-Elves. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Rolf never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
