She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Through the years after Serpent was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Serpent's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
