He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Sammal and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is filled with cunning. He likes to feign weakness letting people think he is weak. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Gildmak is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Gildmak was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared.
