Personality: He is a Carter first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his mother. Through the years after Thorin was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Thorin's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He struck the Carter job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and balancing his hectic life and new carter responsibilities is difficult
