History: Mumpena hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying east to reunite her family. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.

Personality: He is calm most of the time but flees social interaction. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he has decided he is irredeemable

Description: This tall, slender man wears an old set of leather armor, nicked and torn by the ravages of time and battle. His head has been shaved. He is baby faced.

Personality: He is mildly Halfling supremacist, though he does not identify as such. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: Born to a Armorer, his father struggled to pay the bills. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Navigator. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Navigator responsibilities is difficult.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Description: She wears tight fitting clothing which further accentuates her frame, and she perpetually has her longsword ready. Her red hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. Her face is full, her cheeks are rosy, and she always seems to sport a perfect smile and a twinkle in her brown eyes.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, she has a hard time making friends. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and she desires to right it
