To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gale. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Elama is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Masseuse work with an outfit from a few towns over. Masseuse work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He now owns his own business.

History: Born in the west to a Butcher, Alice learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Butcher for the past few years.
