Personality: He believes there is no problem he cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Frederick is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Frederick lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Cumpen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
