History: Rivaan lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His mother was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Bather.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by goblins. Mastema was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the goblins.

Personality: She loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing dancing.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Oriel grew up listening to her father's many stories. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Half-Elven companion (her 'brother'). She has never given up on her dancing dream.

A fanatic, her devotion to her small selection of gods is unquestionable. She claims to be doing their will and will base all her actions on whether or not they would be pleasing to the gods.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Her arcane abilities were realized during a raid on her village. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister.

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. A true patriot, River would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it
