History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She has achieved small success as a Slave Trader.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Malquis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and she desires to right it; and many brigands want her driven away
