His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Fonkin is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.

History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his mother. Through the years after Paggen was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Paggen's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister.

Personality: Kabbarg hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate her. It was this clingy personality that held back her writing career. She will do just about anything if she becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this she is easily convinced.

History: The child of southern immigrants she idolized her father. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.
