History: He was born into a rich family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ar-Kaius grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ar-Kaius. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

Personality: She has a good heart but also a terrible temper. She will forgive often but not before yelling and berating someone for whatever they have done wrong. Flattery will make her almost putty in your hands.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Elves in the east were limited. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out.

Personality: Prone to second guessing herself, she comes off as nervous. She would rather hide behind her crafts than deal with other people.

History: She was raised in a island tribe. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Motivation: To reunite with her old friends; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it

Personality: She likes to make people angry or surprised. She has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: A powerful slaver made her what she is. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Raymond wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Sorcerer, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. On top of that he is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to his employer will always come first he doesn't like to hit women.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature pickaxe.
