Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Merla fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her parents enrolled her in a Sorcerer school at a young age so that she could practice her divine talents. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it
