History: Umpen was born the youngest of three triplets. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Howard was born with his father's beautiful face. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and nothing but the best is good enough for him

The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He has achieved small success as a Roofer.
