History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. When Matilda reached her early adolescence her Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Tabaxi companion (his 'brother'). He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: He's looking for his big break; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
