The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Althaea took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up falchion and armor she uses now. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Volen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She saw the violence of war and the aftermath so she converted to religion and dedicated herself to non-violence.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She now mingles about in high society.

History: Born to a Miller, her father struggled to pay the bills. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.
