Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She's also a talented Shipwright, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Expand her business; and she'd like to take her coworkers down a peg

History: Rangrim lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

History: Dell was born the youngest of three triplets. Her mother took her hunting and taught her how to get in the mind of other creatures. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. A gifted student she started as a Beggar, but she got bored and became a Detective. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: Gillyd was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Fortune-teller. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he is a bit of a kleptomaniac
