History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bertram fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Her druidic abilities were realized during a raid on her village. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
