History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Gifted from a young age, Rivaan studied abroad. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Through the years after Eran was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Eran's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
