History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Baern alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs; and her religion dominates her actions

Her shirts and pants tend to be short and undersized for her due to the difficulty of finding a good tailor. Her hair is cut close to her head. Her thin eyebrows rest above her beady hazel eyes.

Personality: She is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. She loves teas. She is very sensitive about her face. To blow off anger she lifts weights and to control her otherwise explosive temper she works out a lot.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. A gifted student she started as a Bounty Hunter, but she got bored and became a Painter. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Painter for hire.

Motivation: Her religion dominates her actions; and money/treasure

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: Regain custody of her son; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Personality: Bendoo wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Sorcerer, so she tries to act the part. She does a good job, for the most part... She also has developed a complete distrust of the Courier profession.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. After coming to the age of reason, Bendoo took it upon herself to study the psionic arts in their entirety; because of this, she was labeled a dark omen and banished from her homeland. She has achieved small success as a Servant.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Servant and was forced into it by her family; and to be a courier again
